Narrative Writing
This story is about a woman named Rain Simmons. Rain had horrible time management and in her line of work that was unexceptable. She worked for Cobb Fashion in NY as an assistant for the CEO Dasia Cobb. The magazine focused on runway modeling, this was Rain’s dream job and her chance to be discovered. The only problem was she lived on the other side of town and she never made it on time to work. As hard as Rain tries she simply has never been able to be anywhere on time her whole life, even her birth she was a week late. As you can see she just doesn’t have the best luck, but with this job that’s what she could use.
It all started on a very humid, rainy, hot Monday afternoon, Rain was running an errand for Mrs.Cobb. Mrs.Cobb is very high maintenance and needs everything to be perfect. That day she had Rain go and run errands for her all over the city. So Rain had been doing a bunch of different tasks, she didn't complain because this is how she was going to make it to the top and the perfect way to do that was next week's fashion show. It was a very big deal. A lot of important people from around the world were coming to this and it was her chance to show her work. So these errands were no big deal. Mrs.Cobb wanted her to be back by 5 pm and it was already 3:30 and getting a taxi wasn’t easy to get on a rainy day. It was her last errand so she figured she’d just walk at a good pace to her next place. On her way there the rain started to pick up and she started to do a light jog, but she was wearing heels which were not exactly running shows. She was just about to make it in the store when she slipped and fell.
Rain woke up with a bunch of people surrounding her, she had no clue what had happened. The paramedics arrived and said she was okay so she went on with her day. When she finally got home that night she had a bad migraine, she took some medicine for it, but it just wouldn’t go away. As she lay down in bed she thought back to her childhood and how when she was getting headaches her mother would buy her her favorite soup from Soleil’s back home in Texas. As she closed her eyes and imagined the smell of the chicken noodle soup she could almost smell it right in her room. When she opened her eyes she couldn't believe her eyes were there at Soleil’s. She was confused, scared, and she was just shocked. Fast forward a couple days she came to the conclusion that she could teleport. She used it to her advantage too. Thankfully her appearance didn't change, her big hair hid the glowing circle on her neck. On a good note she was never late anywhere again.
